What does factory-new and upgraded mean for an exchange engine?
Our exchange engines are not used engines off the shelf. We rebuild them and replace the known weak points of each engine family as standard with better components — a revised oil pump, reinforced bearing shells, an optimised timing drive, coated pistons. The engine leaves us not as it was from the factory, but better than from the factory.
What is the Hot Running Test?
Before delivery, every exchange engine is run warm on the test bench at our workshop. We measure oil pressure, compression, tightness and smooth running at operating temperature and document it. That way you don't get an engine that runs for the first time in your car — but one that has already passed its test run.
What warranty comes with the exchange engine?
A 2-year warranty on the exchange engine. With no mileage limit when fitted by our workshop. When fitted by another workshop, the warranty applies provided the installation is properly documented. If a problem arises, we collect the vehicle free of charge within the warranty period.
Exchange engine or rebuild — which is better?
An exchange engine is the faster solution: the engine is ready and waiting, and your vehicle is back on the road sooner. A rebuild of your original engine is worthwhile when matching numbers count (collectors, leasing, high-value used cars) — that is offered by our sister company MIK Motoren. In the configurator we advise you honestly on what is more economical for your vehicle.
What does an exchange engine cost at MotorRevo?
Prices start from around €4,290 net for common 2.0 four-cylinder engines and, depending on the engine family, rise to over €9,000 for Mercedes V6 or BMW six-cylinder diesels. The price includes built-in upgrades, the Hot Running Test and a 2-year warranty. Your binding fixed price comes from the configurator in 5 minutes.
How does the exchange work — what happens to my old engine?
We deliver the factory-new exchange engine and take your old engine back in exchange. If you wish, we handle removal and fitting in our workshop. The pickup & delivery service is organised EU-wide and fully insured — you don't have to travel anywhere.
Can I get the exchange engine without fitting too?
Yes. We also supply the exchange engine without fitting — with a full warranty on the engine. We recommend fitting by our workshop or a certified master workshop so that the installation warranty with no mileage limit applies.
